It don't get much dumber than trying to forget a girl when you love her

Yes, I went to school with silhouettes.

Todays extra long blog post title comes to you via the awesome sounds of OK go. Which I really think should be spelled OK Go! With an exclamation mark.

Spent some of today with my mummy, who just got back from Amrika (America to you uneducated folks). She looked pretty tired, but I'm sure she had fun working. Wait...fun...work...never mind, I'm sure she had a great time.

I spent the rest of today mucking around town paying bills and hanging out with Sharky. I told her the saga of my rivalry with this girl I had back in High School. I was in like, Form 4 at the time and for some reason, she didn't like me very much. I think it might have something to do with what happened in the comic. But I was young, impressionable, and would do anything for five dollars.

So, not much has changed.

I totally forgot to put a bonus panel in todays comic. My bad guys, my bad.

Just one of those days

you know, where you go from low to high to whoa. started out as being very, very crap. the mummy was in a kind of mood i guess, and i wasn't feeling up to a screaming match, so i just kinda took it. also, we were going to the doctors, and its not like i have the money to pay the bills. sometimes i think she just thinks of me as an obligation as opposed to...i dunno, sommat else, but i'm not in a very neutral place to discuss it all. i might be biased. yes, it happens.

so the trip to the doctors was heartening. my liver has improved by 1000 points apparently. the Liver Function test from two weeks ago gave me a score of 2000 on the "your liver is fucked" scale. this week it was down to 1000. so in two weeks i'm off to the doc's again, and maybe i'll have improved a whole bunch more.

also, i'm not as yellow as i once was, so my title as the Bonana King might be slipping. we shall see how this pans out.

spent the afternoon with Lawrence, Apples, John and Sharky. it was...nice. it was a lovely sunny day, with a clear blue sky and a full town. spent a ludicrous amount of time looking at board shorts for Lawrence and John, and in the end we didn't even end up going swimming! we ended up at the hibiscus grounds, wandering about and feasting on meatballs.

and then someone decided we should go on the sizzler. the sizzler is basically a merry go round in a merry go round. perhaps a photo is needed, and maybe i'll get my hands on one. until then, imagine a large contraption with seats that spin around a central axis, this axis is attached to another central axis, to which several other axises (or axii) are attached. yeah...needs a photo.

anyways, Lawrence and Apples get one seat, John and Sharky get another, and i'm put in one next to two little fijian kids, a boy and a girl.

me: this is my first time on this thing

little boy: eh? really? boy, it goes really fast! you're going to fly aaaall the way to the moon and back again!

me: that fast? wow...i dunno, maybe i should get on the ferris wheel.

little girl: you're from Australia?

me: no man! i'm from suva!

little girl: se!

me: io

unfortunately the guys that were organizing the ride took me away from the kids (which sounds bad as i write it) and shoved me into another seat, and one of the operator boys got in to balance the seat with me. he also asked me if i was from Australia.

oh yeah, and the sizzler...goes really fast. it's, like a horizontal ferris wheel on steroids. i had too much fun, and felt a little sick and weak in the knees after it was all done.

it was just one of those days. after the whole thing, today felt like one of those days where nothing can go wrong when you've got your friends, time to kill, and the sky above you. i don't think i had a care in the world this afternoon, and for my friends i'm eternally grateful.

also, purple pants are better at a distance, but that's a story for another day.

You need to be more dominating, Mr. Fitzpatrick

so i was being erky and sick, when the 'ol gtalk thingo pops up in the corner of my screen and sharky goes

Sharky: how is you feel now?
The Al: sick
Sharky: you look like harry potter in your pic

the memories that brought back! there was a time when i couldn't walk down the street without people saying something along those lines. oh wait, that was yesterday. is not that i mind, well, not that much.

it's just it's not true!

i look nothing like Daniel Radcliffe at all!

or for that matter, the character in the books :P

so to reinforce this fact, i went and googled Daniel Radcliffe. man, he's cut up now aye? also, you may want to turn safe search on, i got a few pictures that will be forever burned into my mind now. such as Danny boy with a horse...and no pants on. i mean, i know he wanted to go and do something different to get himself out of that whole Potter cast type, but seriously. Equus? Equus!?

anyways, a long time ago in Bethlehem (September of '06) i did a comic which actually was pretty similar to the above rant.

here is the link

and here is the comic, redone in awesome full color!

i like to think that my art has come along quite a bit in the past few years...of course there is still a huge amount left for improvement, it's just nice to see the difference that i've made over time.

also, here is what is on albies shirt:

Of Wolves and Kings

just an illustrated version of the plan the girlfriend and i decided on a few weeks back. you gotta be prepared!

so, Suva is having a music festival, which is quite awesome. i say this mainly because i got to sing a little bit in said festival. Friends Griff, Wilson and Lawrence sorta kinda let me sing a couple of songs with em at a gig at Esquires. It was lotsa fun ^_^. The band is called The Three Kings, (yes, like the movie) and yesh...it's awesome :P

it's kinda addictive, singing is. once you get over the nervousness, also, people have said that i don't sing half bad, so it's not too bad at all. all i did though, is belt out "I'm yours" by Jason Mraz (who is alright, i'm not a huuuge fan, but the ladies seem to love him. well, Ronron, Sharky and the sister do anyway =_=) and sing backup on a couple of songs. but! it's a start :)

i am a happy chappy :)

A Flamingo of Darkness

Some chibi's i drew of my mage and his mates. who are also my mates. cool aye?

i have been...feeling kinda...i dunno, like i've been hit repeatedly in the stomach. very emo, yes. but first! we must talk about the Dark Flamingos and the awesomeness that they are. On Friday, y'see, we went to a quiz. I was on a team and everything, also, i had the honor (or maybe the forceline'ness of naming our team the Dark Flamingos)

our team consisted of our very own Wilson, Sharky, Brother of Sharky, The Griff, and Moira, sister of The Griff. It was an awesome team. Don't just take my word for it, we won the damn quiz, so we must have been pretty awesome. Prizes were an awesome Alcatel 701 each ( i gots the orange one), a carton of coke and two bottles of wine. which i presume are expensive, lord knows the phones must have been.

i haveta thank the Ronron and Sharky especially, since they kinda forceline'd us into doing it anyway :P

so after that, we went out to celebrate! which of course involved copious amounts of alcohol, dancing (in moira's case, with a small woman who likes...other women) and much yelling of "Dark Flamingos!". people must have thought we were crazy...i doubt it though, since they were also probably drunk as well.

then i got some...kinda bad news. i'm trying my hardest to look on the bright side of life, like Brian tells ya to. it's tough, but i think i'll survive. The girlfriend makes me super happy and super sad sometimes.

the next day, i spent mostly at Ronron's bosses house, whom she is housesitting for. i doan know why someone asked her to sit on their house, but she's doin it nonetheless. the whole gang was there, some left, some stayed, and basically took over the house. it was lotsa fun, we played wii, cooked dinner and watched movies. made me feel happier, which is good, coz feeling happy is...good? i guess.

spent the night there, since it was pretty late, also Griff wasnt feeling too stellar, so i doan think he wanted to move around that much. Heres to hoping the rest of the long weekend is great, i think it just might be :)
