Party time! Excellent!

so, i had another farewell party. there was one a month or two back, when i decided to tell everyone i was going, and my aunt was all, "you have to come as soon as possible!" so all my friends freaked out and organised this huge party thing. it was quite spectacular, but obviously nothing for ms. organize-it ronna. It was huge i tell you, i didn't know half the gang there, but that was because it was kind of a combo party thing. She seems to like organizing those.

Yesterday was smaller than the last farewell party, but i kinda liked it better. just a whole bunch of close friends getting together to wish Lawrence a happeh birfadeh and say bye to me. we sang the songs, were hypnotised by Wilsons winamp visualiser thing, and stuffed ourselves with food and birthday cake. Cake is good :)

when the party was over, Arjay showed up with his company rental and dropped a whole bunch of us off at home. Now John lives out in the middle of nowhere. I mean, Lami. So of course, i had to go with Arjay all the way to Lami and back to keep him company. This is because its boring driving back by yourself, and i assume its harder to jack some foo's car when there are two people in it.

On the way back into Suva, we get stopped by the cops. It was just a random licence stop though, so we got through pretty quick and were soon cruising off to town. Now, what do two people who have just been stopped by the cops decide to do? We go to Traps of course.

So yeah, i've got a couple of days left in Fiji. I was sitting on the verandah this morning thinking about how long i've been here, and how i can't really picture myself anywhere else in the future. Heck, i was born here, despite the fact that i have a maroon instead of blue passport Fiji is in my blood. Who knows if this will change, or what the  heck will happen in the next few years, but right now, i really love this country. The people i've met, the things i've seen have all made me who i am. And i'm not that bad a person for it :P

And speaking of Ms. Organize-it Ronna, she's also helping the Griff with his ventures of getting the heck outta dodge, and asked me to do a sketch of the Griffster. I look forward to seeing what she does with it.

We want you to use this cheesegrater here.

yes, when you ask people what they want drawn it comes down to about three different things. it's either

A) them

people are vain. heck, i'm vain. in my case it's alright, since i exude a sense of rugged handsomeness it would be silly not to be vain. where was i? anyways, yes, people ask me to draw them alot. even after they've seen me draw! it's weird!

B) something extremely complicated

a shining example being the comic above, which is loosely based on a conversation i had with someone who shall remain un-named. my personal favorite was back at the comic convention when a kid asked me to draw the justice league. in space. fighting dragons.

C) them doing something extremely complicated

heck, people like to see themselves doing awesome cake stuff. like fighting the justice league. in space. on the back of a dragon.

also, listening to sad songs is not the way to counter depression, just tossing that out there. i'm working on it though! i think i just need to find what is known as a distraction.

Of Wolves and Kings

just an illustrated version of the plan the girlfriend and i decided on a few weeks back. you gotta be prepared!

so, Suva is having a music festival, which is quite awesome. i say this mainly because i got to sing a little bit in said festival. Friends Griff, Wilson and Lawrence sorta kinda let me sing a couple of songs with em at a gig at Esquires. It was lotsa fun ^_^. The band is called The Three Kings, (yes, like the movie) and yesh...it's awesome :P

it's kinda addictive, singing is. once you get over the nervousness, also, people have said that i don't sing half bad, so it's not too bad at all. all i did though, is belt out "I'm yours" by Jason Mraz (who is alright, i'm not a huuuge fan, but the ladies seem to love him. well, Ronron, Sharky and the sister do anyway =_=) and sing backup on a couple of songs. but! it's a start :)

i am a happy chappy :)

Flamingos of Darkness - Part Two

it's funny how things happen really quickly sometimes, without any warning whatsoever. it's also funny how really fun things and really suck things can happy at the same time...or within two minutes of each other. The weekend...was great, and also suck. weird aye?

the suckness, most of it was down to me. i got my hopes up really really high, and had them dashed. which sucks, but there are positive sides to what happened as well. i mean, so what if the girlfriend isn't coming back to fiji? i wasn't going to be here at the end of the year anyway ( heres hoping, to all major deities! someone help me out up there!) and it doesn't make me love her any less. i just need a little time to get over the disappointment i think. also, Ronron had some awful news this weekend, which kinda made me sad too...it's weird, but when really bubbly and happy people are sad...they're usually sad infectiously. also, i wasn't in a happy mood anyways.

i think, that the whole silver lining thing is important sometimes. at least, for sanity's sake.

also, i hate being semi-employed. i am broke as a joke, and cannot exercise any retail therapy.

i need a fucking job =_=

A Flamingo of Darkness

Some chibi's i drew of my mage and his mates. who are also my mates. cool aye?

i have been...feeling kinda...i dunno, like i've been hit repeatedly in the stomach. very emo, yes. but first! we must talk about the Dark Flamingos and the awesomeness that they are. On Friday, y'see, we went to a quiz. I was on a team and everything, also, i had the honor (or maybe the forceline'ness of naming our team the Dark Flamingos)

our team consisted of our very own Wilson, Sharky, Brother of Sharky, The Griff, and Moira, sister of The Griff. It was an awesome team. Don't just take my word for it, we won the damn quiz, so we must have been pretty awesome. Prizes were an awesome Alcatel 701 each ( i gots the orange one), a carton of coke and two bottles of wine. which i presume are expensive, lord knows the phones must have been.

i haveta thank the Ronron and Sharky especially, since they kinda forceline'd us into doing it anyway :P

so after that, we went out to celebrate! which of course involved copious amounts of alcohol, dancing (in moira's case, with a small woman who likes...other women) and much yelling of "Dark Flamingos!". people must have thought we were crazy...i doubt it though, since they were also probably drunk as well.

then i got some...kinda bad news. i'm trying my hardest to look on the bright side of life, like Brian tells ya to. it's tough, but i think i'll survive. The girlfriend makes me super happy and super sad sometimes.

the next day, i spent mostly at Ronron's bosses house, whom she is housesitting for. i doan know why someone asked her to sit on their house, but she's doin it nonetheless. the whole gang was there, some left, some stayed, and basically took over the house. it was lotsa fun, we played wii, cooked dinner and watched movies. made me feel happier, which is good, coz feeling happy is...good? i guess.

spent the night there, since it was pretty late, also Griff wasnt feeling too stellar, so i doan think he wanted to move around that much. Heres to hoping the rest of the long weekend is great, i think it just might be :)

Observe the face to fist technique!

my face hurts. this is mainly due to the fact that a guy hit me, although it could have been much worse.

but first! the Indiana Jones report!

i liked it, i'm sorry. the thing is, you might call me an Indiana Jones fanboy, so perhaps my opinion is biased, but it was what i wanted to see. i wanted to see Indy kicking ass, and making jokes and cracking his whip at baddies. And he did it, he kicked commie ass. i'm not too sure what the whole point of the chariots of the gods plotline was, but industrial light and magic got to show off their fancy special effects to great aplomb.

i also dressed up for the occasion, because if i didn't i couldn't call myself a fan.

the downside (or upside, depending on your opinion) is that Ronron didn't go with the gang, so i may still have a free movie there somewhere ^_^

so i went out on friday night. my sister had a party to attend at the Alliance Francaise, so the Griff, Arjay and i went as escorts. alright, mainly we went to drink their wine and eat apple pie, but we did do some escorting. Griff and I also won a free lunch due to our awesome rendition of Lifehouse's Hanging by a moment at the karaoke competition.

after the party, i dropped the sister off at home and then the boys and i went out. and sad-face.

have i told you about sad-face? it's a long story, lets just say this is the most depressed chick i know. she pervades an aura of depression, it's that bad.

so it's around one in the morning, Arjay, Griff, Sad-face and I step into a club (which shall remain unnamed) , and one of Sad-faces cousins decides to start some trouble. it was...my first bar room brawl.

basically, Sad-faces cousin, let's call him...Derrick, doesn't like Griff. so i think he decided to cause a little trouble when he saw us. it started with Derrick's friend tried to one-side Griff, who proceeded to slip the punch and flatten the guy out. Then Derrick and Griff start going at it, and Arjay tries to break them up, which got him a punch in the head from another of Derricks mates.

it was at that point i jumped in, all this time i had been holding sad-face back from the fight, when i should have been rooting people in the mouth (this was actual advice given to me by Greasemonkey, "if someone looks like they are even slightly considering throwing a punch, root them in the mouth first"). i pushed Arjay and the guy away from each other, which earned me a fist in the jaw. i am 90% sure at this point, that it was the guy who hit me.

luckily, i used my radio voice on him, which seemed to calm him down a bit. you may laugh, but my manly voice has stopped violence, true fact ^_^

things started to calm down at this point, mainly because the bouncers started dragging people outside. Arjay was the worst wounded though, he got kicked in the face and had a split lip :(

so yeah, excitement abounded this weekend.

also, i think i have a soft spot for alien civilization theories.
