You can't spell Damage without...

Seedus: The Elf, The Mage, The Legend.

Right, so ever since the announcement came out a couple of days ago that Blizzard was releasing class previews of the changes that they're making for the new expansion, I have been eagerly awaiting the news about the mage changes. I read the warrior ones, the priest ones and yes, the warlock (or should I say whore-lock) ones. (Sorry Wilson, I did try and skim the Shaman ones but I didn't understand a single word >_<) If you're interested, the WoW.com article is here.

Am I happy with the changes? Well, it's not like it's going to affect my choice of whether or not I'm buying the expansion, I've put too much into ol' Seed to not get him to level 85. But! It does look I'll have hecka fun getting there with this little baby:

Flame Orb (available at level 81): Inspired by Prince Taldaram's abilities in Ahn'kahet and Icecrown Citadel, this spell allows the mage to cast a flaming orb that travels in front in a straight line, sending beams that cause fire damage to passing targets. Once it's cast, the mage is free to begin casting other spells as the Flame Orb travels. While the spell will be useful to any spec, Fire mages will have talents that improve it, possibly causing the Flame Orb to explode when it reaches its destination.

Look at that! I can so picture setting that fucker off in the tunnels of Warsong Gulch and cackling maniacally as those Alliance fools burn! Also, it looks like I'll have an excuse to respec back to Fire, finally :)

The other two spells that were announced were Time Warp (which grants the party or raid a haste buff, yay! More combat utility!) and Wall of Fog, which doesn't sound very exciting when you first read it. It's basically a snare that will slow down enemies. But then, I remembered that I am squishy mage, and that any time where someone is beating my intelligent head in is time where I cannot cast spells.

TLDR version: Mage Class Changes are not bad. Also, Warlocks with green fire mean that I get proper recognition for my burning abilities instead of people giving credit to icky warlocks.

It's not really cheating!

it helps, if during the fifth panel, you play the ending theme from shortland street in your head. so yeah, i've been feeling like i've been neglecting seedy a little lately. is it weird that i've attached myself emotionally to a collection of polygons and textures?

also, in unrelated news, i have award winning friends ^_^

Westfall...its brown

if you look closely you can see Frieda in the middle of the screenshot there. she's the one wearing purple. she recently began her adventurin's in Westfall. Westfall is...very brown. also, i'm not playing world of fog-craft, it's just my computer that has a slack (read : none) graphics card.

the reason i bring this is up is because it's what i've been doing a lot of lately, killing time in between working on my portfolio and running after two hyper little hellions who happen to be my cousins. they love Frieda by the way, at some point we had this conversation:

Albert: and Frieda's a mage see, she can shoot fireballs at the bad rat men.

Littler cousin: oooh! she's a magic lady!

Frieda blows up some kobolds

Littler cousin: yay! she's a strong magic lady!

Albert: i have another mage you know, his name is Seedus and he's pretty cool, you want to see him?

Littler cousin: okay!

albert logs Frieda off and logs onto Seedus, his level 70 blood elf mage

Albert: see, he has a dragon, isn't that cool?

Littler cousin: i have a dragon too.

Albert: really, what color is it?

Littler cousin: it's pink!

bear in mind that this littler cousin of mine is two and a half years old. i was kinda dissappointed that she liked my low level alliance mage better than the blood elf one, but i can see how she can relate to the girl one better.

anyways, Lakeshire beckons!

But would he use a Ladder?

Yes, i live again. Been playing Final Fantasy one again, which explains the awesome mage on mage art.

Remember how i said i was unemployed? Didn't last too long, i got quite a few interviews and job offers quite suddenly. Which is awesome. The job i have now though, i got mainly by being on the tv. it's true, and a story for another day. Unless you want to hear it now.

This week Indiana Jones ( as opposed to Indian Jones) opens, and i am very excited. In anticipation i managed to wrangle Griffs copy of all three Indiana Jones ( on one dvd! piracy at its finest) and have watched them all. i may watch them again, they're that awesome.

i watched Raiders first, and then the Last Crusade, before watching the Temple of Doom, because the last one is a bit of an anomaly in the series. this is because

a) it's set in India ( while this is awesome, it prevents Indy from globetrotting)
b) there are no Nazi's.

watching it again though, i have to admit it's still an awesome flick, they all are. there's something about Indy that makes you want to cheer for him. He's not all powerful, he makes mistakes (sometimes big ones, like, i know! lets leave the girl in the tent so i can go and find the ark of the covenant) and he has a sense of humor.

so, here i am, not reading a thing about the new movie, in order to have a neutral outlook on it.

also, i get to watch it for free, since Ronron owes me a ticket ^_^
