The kid is not my Son

So, went out tonight, kind of a guys night out sort of thing, because today was full of stuff that happened. I got a letter today from USP, which basically said "Onz". So starting from the end of next month i'm going to be a Uni student. Bring on the pain!

Also, The king of Pop passed away today, which was sad. Every fifth song tonight was either Thriller, Billie Jean or Beat it, which was nice, you know to acknowledge the man. He did some amazing stuff, vocally. And i was watching a couple of his performances on youtube this afternoon. The moonwalk is still awesome.

There was also some drama with an drunk man this evening. He accused Arjay, John and I of taking his beer and drinking it, and although i know it's not good to argue with drunk people, I got really, really offended. So i swore back =_=

Drunk man: you like drinking free beer!? Huh!?

Albie: Hey man, we're all drinking Gold here and your empty bottle is Bitter man, just calm down.

Drunk man: Fuck you, you look like a fucking poofta!

Albie: Fuck... Fuck you!

Drunk man pushes Albie, John steps in, to prevent Albie from unleashing his fury upon this unwitting fool.

Drunk man: Yeah, Fuck you, you poofta, you like drinking free beer huh!?

Albie: No, i like drinking my beer, it's delicious.

I know, I know, I am a silly fool.

It's been a long, cold, lonely winter

Was feeling a little down today. It's freezing out, i miss the noodle immensely, and i've been looking at too many other artists amazing illustrations.

Why do they even call it freaking global warming if its freezing outside? From now on, i'm calling it global cooling, join in the cause, i'll even make some t-shirt designs. Actually, that might be a good idea...

He's a Ghost Huntin' Man

Done for this weeks Remake/Remodel, which i've found an awesome excercise for drawing. I had a lot of fun sketching out Hoku and his bottles. I've also found that using textures is good fun! The way i see it, you can have a boring gradient as a background, or you can make that shit a textured gradient, son!

I also saw Transformers 2 today. I would like to talk about it, but... I don't want to spoil it for everyone. Just three words then, that sum up my opinion.

Fuck Michael Bay.

Watching daytime sports shows

So, i was home all day yesterday, feeling kind of sick. I found myself watching the sports show on tv, as i had no energy to get up and put a dvd on. This led to learn a whole lot about Russia and the golfing situation over there.

For a country of over six million square miles of land, they only have 6 established golf clubs. Six! I also learned about Maria Verchenova. Here is a picture of her.

In my delirious state i found myself trying to follow her most exquisite accent, which made the sports show about 300% more fun. Seriously sports shows, i want more exotic accents. Here is also a link here for more Maria goodness. She's seriously inspiring, and a pioneer of Russian golfing.

John also offered his reason why Russia doesn't have that many golfers. To quote: "it's fucking cold in Russia".

But i know the truth, i know that in Soviet Russia, Golf plays you.

Time Sinks

It started out innocently enough. John got his new vodafone internet thing, and suddenly had the oppurtunity to download a bucketload of things quickly, so he got a couple of games. One of them was Plants Vs. Zombies. Then he gave it to me.

Normally i'm not a big fan of tower defense games, but theres something different about this one. Sure, in essence you're just stopping zombies from reaching the left side of the screen, but the combination of the fact that you're using plants to stop them, and the character design make it something special. Theres something soothing about a little sunflower bopping along to a beat in its head. Now imagine a whole row of them.

For the last couple of days, i've found myself playing this game when i should be doing other things. Like, maybe i should work on the website that i'm getting paid to design...after i finish one more level. But you can't just finish one more level, because every level gives you something cool for finishing it. The reward system is very, very sweet.

And...i finished it, the adventure mode is over, the last boss is defeated. Theres the minigames though...i could finish those. Wait, did you hear that? Sounded like someone saying "braaaains."
I'll be right back.

Somebody call 911

It's amazing the things that alcohol makes better. Like, songs for instance. I never thought that in a million zillion years i'd sing along to sean kingston. I mean, the man takes peoples music and sings his own lyrics over the beat. I've seen him do it!

But, 911 is pretty good. Been meaning to make this post for a while, it was like 2 weeks ago when the whole gang sung it in the clubs. But, hey, i just draw the pretty pictures, i'm not the brains of the operation.

I'm surprised i've written this many words so far, i'm not in a particularly good mood :P

Lookit me, i've got my magic pie

I'm a bit too lazy at the moment to make a proper post. But i thought i'd put the last two pages of this story up. Seeing as how i'm sure there are people dying to know how it ends. Well, perhaps not dying...but at least a bit intrigued.

Thought Processes

Sketches! Most of which are drawn late at night at my drawing table. I guess this is a sketch dump post, but there are a couple of cool concepts i like thrown in there :)

Also, the character development i went through for Lydia was interesting, started out with her looking very young and stuff. Oh, and here are drawings of boobies that i made.

I sold my soul for the second time

I had a pretty long day yesterday. The Oceanic people called me after what seemed ages (i think it's been a month or two...time is relative when you're funemployed) and i went and done some honest work for them. Sometimes i surprise myself with the stuff i can churn out when required. I got given this brochure to make and it was almost 5. I panicked, i mean, come on man 5 is beer o'clock!

I managed to finish it in like an hour, and it looked pretty cool.

Anyway, i think i might be having one of those quarter life crises. It's kinda snuck up on me, but lately i've been caught myself thinking, what the hell am i doing? you know? Then i usually shrug it off. Last night it got a bit harder to do so :P

I mean, I've done pretty cool things with my life so far, but I'm not in a position where i can say, this is my life and i'm in complete control of it. I'll be fine, give me a minute, but i can't get a life if my heart's not in it.
Oh, and more Bearly There is the pictures. Yes, i did just draw giant teddy bears killing little rabbit things. I remember giggling while pencilling it too.

Conversation of the Night:

John: She really wanted me to meet her boyfriend.

Albie: Man, that sucks. Do you think you could take him in a fight?

John: I dunno. I have no idea if he has gills or not.

Albie: Gills!? You're not going to fight him underwater, son!

Now that i think about it, John might have said skills.

Red and Black and Spider Green

I like these bursts of creativity i get sometimes. I realise where i went wrong with Ambrose though. At one point i was churning out pages like nobodies business, but by the time i hit the end of the burst i had the beginning of a huge story that i had no hope of finishing.

Working with these shorter casefile stories has been good though, they compliment my short attention span very well.

I'm just a lurve machine

Thus begins Bearly There! As opposed to bearly legal, which is a movie with bears and young women that you do not want to see. Trust me.

There are seven pages total in this story, which i pencilled, inked and colored all by myself. Aren't i industrious? This was after i lost the PSD's for Nameless and Aimless, so i decided to return to using actual live pencils and such. Also, perhaps working in short story arcs.

Lydia is a personal favorite character of mine, who first showed up in my Ambrose comics that i was drawing last year. She's what i like to call, an Action Scientist. Kinda like Indiana Jones, you know, how he's a doctor but still kicks arse and such. She's also the topmost authority on giant rainbow portals.

Various obscenties!

So all my Nameless and Aimless PSD's got deleted. A PSD is a photoshop document by the way, and contains all the layers and stuff that go into the creation of a comic strip. This is a problem, because you see, i didn't save a print worthy copy of the various strips that i've done. Not that i want to get them printed or anything. Well, i can't now so i guess it doesn't matter.

I still want to shout out a giant glowing fuck though. This will have to do:

Okay, so it's not the worst thing that could have happened to me. I could have been attacked by wolves (although I would have punched them all anyway, thus winning the battle of man against lupine threat), I could have contracted an STD, or even worse I could have been ostrascized by a real artist for my lack of actual artistic crediblity. The last one seems to be the least likely of all the things that could have happened though :P

After i'm done being angry at the fuckwit who deleted my files, i think i might just do the strips again. This time however, i'm saving fucking backups. Just like Raptor Jesus told me to. Why did i ever doubt that saurian?

Leva! All is explained!

I didn't know that people who weren't from fiji could read this blog. Well, obviously i knew, but it never occured to me to explain the meanings of some of the slang that i use :P (apologies to the american friend and other non-pacific islanders)

First off, Wilson of Paradise Fiji Blog has a regular, slang of the week feature, which is quite handy if you want to be "in with the cool kids slang". Waaay back in october of last year, he did a post explaining the term "leva".

Also, here is a picture i put together a while back. Hope that clears up some confusion ^_^

Mother Superior jumped the gun

Do you sense a theme forming here? I hope you do, otherwise imma go back to bed, crawl under the covers and turn off. I will not talk to you sara ga. It will be a leva for the ages, in the post apocalyptic future, it will known as the Era of the Great Leva-ration. Whitebeards will speak to the younglings of it in a hushed tone, and they will listen with their four eyes opened wide.

Also, i am sick. That is all.

Excuse me while i larf

Alright, so it could just be a coincidence that they kinda spell out LSD. Yeah, right.

Speaking of weird word thingies, did you know that you can rearrange the letters in Adam Lambert to spell out Am Mad Albert!?

Get Mr. Ripley on the line!

Dramatic!

thanks John, haven't laughed that hard in a while :P

That's the Masterplan Baby

So i was looking at some t-shirts over at J!nx today, when this caught my eye. The sad thing is it translates to like, fifty bucks Fijian. So imm have to make do with this:

You know, when i get the money to get the transfer onto a t-shirt done :P
