When in doubt...

I think I want that to be my epitaph. When in doubt, draw boobies. And weapons. And armor. I really gotta try some new poses out or something though. Hehe...poses.

Anyway, I've been chugging along lately. Work is not as busy as the holiday season was, but we still have a lot of stuff to do and prepare for. I'm looking forward to a couple of the projects we have lined up, which is pretty much all I can say about them right now.

I do want to get a comicbook done this year though. I feel like...it's the right time. Then again, I've always felt that. I just need to find someone who wants to write.

This is turning into one of those posts with no actual point, isn't it?

I've been listening to a lot of The Fratellis lately, they're very very good, and you should listen to them to if you have a chance. Apparently they are Alternative Rock.

That is all for now.

On the Radio...uh oh!

This song gives me the happy feelings at the moment. Also makes me think, hence the art.

I need to bring some of my music to the office

Caught myself listening to Secondhand Serenade. When I realized this, I immediately tore the headphones out of my ears.

The Burning west...thing rained

so i'm in the west, on a whim and quite randomly. The Griff asked if i wanted to go to help out with some radio stuff, i wasn't feeling too happy at home so i decided, what the fluff, let's go.

so far, i've played soccer in the rain, had dinner with the nicest old people ever and mucked about out Lautoka. Which is small. And boring if you don't know anyone there.

There will be a longer post soon, just thought i'd update the blog.

Viva Lautoka :D

Also, Coldplay won some grammies Lawrence. Griff can't stop crowing about it. Taylor Swift is too cute and i need to get the Album Raising Sands. Mainly because it won like 4 grammies and i knew nothing about it.

We need more ska-punk bands on the teevee

So i was watching The Groove Thang on the telly-box, mainly because they were playing old oooold songs. The video clip for Bus Stops Kung Fu-Fighting was particularly awesome. But then they played some Save Ferris! On Fiji One! Whoever was picking the songs tonight was either stoned or completely out of their mind. I mean, Come on Eileen :)

The bear-hat thing on one of the guitarists was particularly cool. God bless the 80's, 90's? (just checked the wiki-wiki-pedia, 90's :D )

Anyway, i'm going to be very lazy this year and just make up resolutions as i go along. For example, if i need to get a particularly difficult job done, i will say "one of my new year's resolutions is to finish this particularly difficult job." and then i will do it, it makes sense to me.

anyways, this is a lazy post by someone who is feeling particularly lazy this 2009.

The times, they are a-changing

with an Axe. i know, i know, i spend way too much time playing this game. actually, i spend too much time playing Edd when i should be paying attention to he-who-changes-his-hairstyle-everytime-i-log-in Seedus.

You see, Edd has decided that he loves Nagrand. It's a pretty, almost Super-marioish place, with floating chunks of earth hanging in the sky, often with little waterfalls running off them into the air. Don't ask me how they get the water back onto the floating bits.

Occasionally, after times of Ogre genocide he sends the cloth and random bits of equipment he finds to his good buddy Seedus. I recently logged onto Seed, and...he had a lot of cloth.

But enough of this WoW talk, let us talk of other things, like music and art and culture. or maybe just music.

I recently acquired a Best of Bob Dylan album. I don't know what really made me do this, i guess i was pining for some soft tunes, after getting tired of the alternative stuff i seem to be listening to alot of lately. This morning, i let it play while i was doing some feminist work and...i was transported back to the good old days.

Riding in my dads green morris minor, with the CD player on, singing along to Forever Young and Blowing in the Wind. I must have been about 10 or 11. Thats where the music takes me, and it's a safe warm place.yeah, sawn off shotguns are fun to draw. took me forever to get them right, can you tell?

I've been thinking about Noodle a lot lately. Good thoughts, you know. I dunno, i've been pretty sad lately for some reason, thoughts of my dad and noodle and people who i miss are usually up in there in my head. I'm glad i've got some work to do now though. Keep those hands busy and all that.Halloween was fun, i went as a generic cowboy man. Complete with sixshooters and authentic cowboy sneakers. Everyone had such a good time, i wonder why we don't dress up in costume every weekend :P

yeah, there was one point, when we went to Traps, where i was returning to my friends when a lady stopped me, she looked very drunk, and was old-ish. looking deep into my eyes, she said " i like your hat" and pulled down my bandanna. she stared at me for a full five seconds, before turning and leaving without a word. My stunning visage had rendered her virtually speechless. i wasn't slightly depressed by this at all.

Hopefully, when we i get some photo's i will post em up. Because how often do i get to dress up?

I'm the underdog....yeah yeah!

The Dirtbombs lyrics in the title field by the by, they make the sounds that make my ears happy. So yeah, even though i haven't been doing as much as i could be doing lately, i feel like i've been too busy to post anything, which is weird. also been feeling very disjointed as of late, hopefully this is all mental and not related to any sort of physical debilitation. yes, it's reached the point where i hope it's mental.

i was walking to town today, and thinking about the classes in Final Fantasy 1. this is because a certain noodle and i were talking about it. i came to the realization that i, really love that game, having finished it 3 and a half times. the last time was...time loopy. this is my reason for doing the write up on the classes. it's not extensive, but hey, it beats short posts :P

now without further ado, here are the various classes you can choose in Final Fantasy one, and their pro's and con's.

Black Mage: ahh yes, the black mage, don't listen to what other people say, those crackers don't know nothing. Black mages are squishy, since they can only wear robes and such, but are the most powerful spell casters, having the ability to totally burn their enemies with the power of dark and deadly magicks! as you can see, i like black mages. in the beginning you won't find them particularly useful, but their ability to quickly clear the screen of enemies makes levelling much much faster. after the class change, they become Black Wizards, which basically just makes them uber.

White Mage: the healbot, every party needs one. they're the ones playing whack-a-mole with your parties health, keeping them alive and casting the spells that get rid of those yucky status ailments like poison and such. for some reason, i always thought the white mage was a girl, but in the original Final Fantasy, after the class change it becomes clear that it's a man wearing those white robes. you could technically delegate healing to a Red Mage if you want, but why not leave the healing to the best?

Thief: the only reason you're choosing the thief is because of it's class change. after class change the thief, for some reason, decides to learn ninjutsu, and as we all know, ninja(s) are awesome. so in the meantime, treat the thief like a slightly squishier fighter. he can't take as much damage but when geared properly can deal the same amount of damage at a faster rate.

Red Mage: i like to think that Red Mages are people who can't decide what the hell damn they want to do. i mean, Red Mages can cast black magic spells, white magic spells, and aren't too shabby with swords. basically, they're a hybrid class. it's possible to finish the game with just a party of 4 red mages. i haven't done this because i don't like them, but if that's your sort of thing, hey, go for it. oh yeah, after class change they become...Red Wizards.

Fighter: your fighter is...a fighter. he hits things with his big weapon, and can equip all the armor in the game. not at the same time though, that would be silly. they deal lots of damage, and are a pain to kill. the only downside? they're the most expensive to equip. in fact, your fighter will be the major gil sink in your party, he's like a high maintenance girlfriend. after class change he becomes Knight and learns some low level white magic. for some reason.

Black Belt: i know...very little about this class, having never leveled one. this is because i've always found him to be out of place. i mean, he's a martial arts expert in a game with knights and wizards. admittedly, the thief becomes a ninja, but that's because ninja are awesome. the black belt just becomes a master. a master of what? i dunno...probably hitting things with his hands.
that's what he does, by the way. he hits things...with his hands.

i personally, like having a party with one fighter, one black mage, one white mage and a thief simply because he becomes a ninja after class change.

but thats just me.

Its all a bit metaphysical innit

yah, so's i've been trying out some different approaches to drawing. mostly with color and how its applied, and the relationships between different hues.

so i've got the newest Death Cab for Cutie album. To me, it sounds basically like more of the same from them. That's not a bad thing, mind you, it's just nothing new. I really like the sound that they have anyway.

today i went to the University of the South Pacific. it was an adventure in which i attempted to find out if i could attend a class or two. i'm very late, i know. i also needed to go to that side of town anyways, as my uncle had asked me to pick up some tickets for his family for the secondary schools show that is going on tonight.

so i showed up, told em who i was, and got sent backstage. my only piece of information was that i had to see a man named Eiglesi, and that he would have the tickets for my uncle. standing in the wings, i saw a lady with a walkie talkie, who looked like she knew what she was doing, and therefore probably know this mysterious Eiglesi.

Albert: excuse me, i'm looking for Eiglesi, d'you know where he is?

Walkie Talkie Lady: yeah, he's on stage.

Albert: oh, will be coming off anytime soon? which one is he?

Walkie Talkie Lady: he's the conductor.

so i basically had to wait for the whole show to finish before i got to get the tickets. wasn't a chore or anything though, seeing as how the show was actually pretty entertaining.

after that, it was to town to have lunch with the John and the Lawrence, and then to apply for a job at village 6. yes. i applied for a job. in the service industry. if i get this job, the blog can only keep getting better.

finally, Wilson gave me acts one and two of Dr. Horribles sing-along blog. it's...amazingly funny, and also pretty deep. act 3 is out already apparently, and i must get my filthy mitts on it! i must!

We would be warm, below the storm

so, it was the girlfriends birthday today (unless i have taken too long to type this out, then it was yesterday). she is officially two years older than me for the next month and a half. i doan think she had the best birthday ever, but at least there was cake. and whiskey. admittedly she did not get to drink said whiskey, but it was there.

we (the girlfriend and i) had a nice talk about what to do in case of wolf attacks though. apparently, the plan is for me to toss her hiiiigh into the air (using my manly strength of course) and then proceed to punch the wolves. there have been nay-sayers who say, what if there are too many wolves, albert? what if they bite you with their sharp teeth and fangs? to this i say, there are never enough wolves.

the girlriend, though, says that she is prone to getting attacked by giant birds while airborne. therefore, an auxiliary course of action, where i throw a wolf at said bird, was agreed upon.

it's these conversations that remind me why i love that girl.

i need more Beatles music. i got my hands on the Octopuses Garden track in order to prove a point to someone, and realized that my collection of music is sorely lacking in the Beatles department. my dad used to sing the song to my sister and i as a lullaby when i was a wee babe, so it brought back some warm fuzzies listening to it again. this track also inspired the piece of art you see at the top of the post. i doan think that the octopus in the song had psychic powers though.

i have also rolled the most depressing looking undead warrior i could make, and named him Hiraedd. yes, i doan know if it will pass over me anytime soon.

and finally, i wish my skills were as awesome as this lady here: [link]
